CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - 22News has new details about the Chicopee police officers accused of taking pictures of Amanda Plasse’s body.
Mayor Michael Bissonnette told 22News that the internal investigation found that three officers were directly involved. Twelve other officers received the photos, but did not take part in sharing them.
22News filed a request through the "Freedom of Information Act" for more information on the officers named. That information should be available to the 22News I-Team next week.
However, we've learned Friday night that some members of Plasse's family are angry their request for information, sent months ago, has gone unanswered.
When asked by 22News, Mayor Bissonnette said the time difference is because Plasse's family is seeking legal action against the city and any request must go through the city's legal department.
There is no such restriction for media requests.
