WILBRAHAM, Mass. (WWLP) - Wilbraham's board of selectmen says the town is being left out of discussions with the two casino companies looking to develop in western Massachusetts.
The issue was a big topic at Wednesday night's meeting.
But so far, they're not designated as a surrounding community in either proposal.
If and when that happens, the town will have minimal time to get in on the game.
"Both proposals whether MGM or Mohegan Sun have had months, years to do their studies and then they took months to do agreements with Springfield and Palmer, we are being asked to do the same thing in roughly six weeks, we don't even have their studies at this point,” Chairman of the Wilbraham Board of Selectman James Thompson said.
The Wilbraham board of selectmen has asked the gaming commission for an extension on their surrounding community agreements.
