AMHERST, Mass (WWLP) - The final score of five to two had fans across western Massachusetts full of excitement.
22News went to the University of Massachusetts where Red Sox fans were happy to see the season move to the World Series.
The game had fans on their feet and cheering in the streets at the University of Massachusetts Saturday night. 22News called the UMass police department this morning and was told that there weren't any major problems.

Whether they watched the game in their dorm or at a local bar, students could be heard chanting “Let's go Red Sox!” and rehashing the game with friends outside late Saturday night.
Pete K told 22News, "Oh my! I was ecstatic it was amazing. And then like so we're like we're pumped we're chilling there and then the Tigers score two runs on us. Oh Franco Morales!"
"When we won, it was even crazier. You could hear "Lets go Red Sox!" from the center of Southwest and all around everybody was just celebrating. You could tell that it was a really big deal,” said Tom Sheridan.
Vijay Modi said,"It was exciting you know every game of the series was a battle and this one was a battle and they gave Boston fans what they wanted."
The first game of the 2013 World Series will be Wednesday at Fenway at 7:30 p.m. versus the Cardinals.
