Ciara Speller

Award winning Weeknight Evening Anchor Ciara Speller joined 22News in July of 2017. Prior to her work at WWLP, Ciara received a master’s degree in journalism from Emerson College in Boston. She completed her undergraduate studies at Salve Regina University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Communications and minored in dance.

Ciara has covered some of the region’s most historic events, including the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic at the Holyoke Soldiers’ Home, which gained national attention. She has also been pivotal in the station’s Black History initiatives, hosting and producing segments on race relations and national issues with local impact.

Ciara is actively involved in the western Massachusetts community. She currently serves on the board for the Springfield based non-profit organization, I Found Light Against All Odds, which provides resources for at-risk youth and their families.

In her free time, Ciara enjoys experiencing dance and theatrical offerings throughout the area and exploring all that nature has to offer with her dog Bruno.
