Jennifer Zarate

Jennifer Zarate joined the 22News team in May of 2018 as a multimedia journalist. Before arriving in Springfield, she worked as a multimedia journalist at GateHouse Media Wicked Local Wellesley.

Jenn is a Long Island native, who grew up watching News 12 Long Island, “As Local as Local News Gets.” As an aspiring journalist, she traveled to Boston to attend Emerson College, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Journalism.

During her time at Emerson, Jenn wrote, produced and anchored for WEBN, Emerson’s award-winning news station. She also reported for WECB, Emerson’s freeform radio station, and The Berkeley Beacon, Emerson’s student-run newspaper.

Out of college, Jenn worked as a newscast writer at WHDH-TV, 7News, in Boston. She also freelanced as an evening reporter at Worcester News Tonight, Spectrum TV3, in Worcester.

Today, she’s an experienced writer for print, online, and broadcast media.

She looks forward to learning more about western Massachusetts while “Working for You!”

In her spare time, Jenn enjoys being with family and friends, working out, watching sports, cooking, and attending concerts.
