Tarana Burke, a social justice activist and founder of the #MeToo movement, spoke at Smith College Wednesday night.
She spoke at the dedication of Smith College’s new Wurtele Center for Leadership and also answered student’s questions. The new center strives to help students realize their leadership potential.
Smith students said they were excited to have the activist on campus.
“She’s a really good example of a leader so it’s fitting that she dedicates a leadership thing,” said Sarah Abwoitz, a Smith College student.
Hundreds of students and the public attended the event to hear Burke’s keynote speech.
