Our 22News Cooking for You series continues as Tamara Sacharczyk joins us with her favorite recipe for a sweet and salty cracker toffee!
Salty Toffee Candy
1 sleeve of salted crackers
2 sticks of butter
1 cup of brown sugar
2 cups of chocolate chips
Splash of vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. place one layer of salted crackers on the baking sheet.
Melt two sticks of butter along with the brown sugar until it turns golden brown, stirring frequently. Add vanilla extract and mix well. Pour the mixture over the crackers and bake for a couple minutes. Melt chocolate chips in the microwave stirring every 30 seconds. Spread over the crackers and caramel and refrigerate the toffee for at least 2 hours.
