Gateway City Arts is a community focused music and arts center located in Holyoke, MA that hosts nationally touring acts, local acts, dining, classes, and community events. Vitek Kruta and Cait Simpson join us to tell us more about their new endeavors.
Their new Small Works Gallery opens on Saturday, December 8th. It features over 20 local visual artists and will open with a free ceremony featuring live music and light refreshments at 5 PM.
Gateway City Arts is also a great location for musical performances. On New Years Eve, Bella’s Bartok and And The Kids will be performing. Both bands are nationally touring acts that got their start in Northampton. Bella’s Bartok hosts a big New Years show in the valley every year, but this is their first year at Gateway City Arts. The theme is enchanted forest!
There is also a new non-profit that works with Gateway City Arts called Gateway City Live. Gateway City Live was built to be able to support the arts community in a more effective way. They are devoted to the cultivation and accessibility of the arts and are helping GCA to provide more quality entertainment, classes, and funding for events accessible to the whole community.
