Dr. Laura Christof brings us this quick and easy recipe for tasty energy balls. The recipe can be customized to your family’s tastes, adding in dried fruit, chocolate, or other treats.

Energy ball base recipe:
    1 cup grain
    1/2 cup fat/protein rich spread
    1/2 cup ground flax seed1/4 cup 
    1/2 cup fruits or treats
    1/3 cup sweetener
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Some ideas for ingredients:

Grain: Oats
Protein: Nut butter/sunbutter
Nuts/seeds: Chopped pecans, flax, chia
Flavor: spices (cinnamon, etc)
Fruit or treat: banana chips, raisins, apple chips
Treat: Chocolate chips
Sweet: Honey or maple syrup or agave nectar
