Claudine Gaj, owner and chef at The Barracks Tavern, taught us how to prepare a vintage Reuben sandwich at home.
- Rye bread
- Butter, melted
- Swiss cheese slices
- 1,000 Island dressing
- Ginger ale
- Sprinkle packet of spices on corned beef and rub in.
- Put in deep roasting pan, add ginger ale until it’s 1/2 way up meat
- Cover with foil, tightly roast in oven at 375 degrees for 3.5 – 4.5 hours
- Let cool and slice
