Today we celebrate Massachusetts at the fair! We’ll look at maple products, dip mixes for entertaining, and learn about local apple varieties for baking. We’ve also got a recipe for apple crisp.
We also learn all about the giant slide, a Big E favorite since 1969. We’ll speak with an employee who has worked at the slide for more than 35 years. Did you know it used to be at another spot on the fairgrounds?
The Big E was an agricultural fair at its history. An interactive exhibit will help kids learn how farms produce the foods on our table. We also visit a hidden gem of The Big E-the 4H milk booth which helps support the organization. It’s outside the Mallory complex.
Today we meet a crafter who makes realistic flowers out of clay. You can find her and many other artisans inside the craft commons at The Big E.
Finally we’ll look at some colorful giant licorice new to this year’s fair.
