Pet of the week: Annabel Lee the baby bunny!

Mass Appeal

A one month old bunny is looking for her forever home, could it be yours? Lee Chambers from Dakin Humane Society visited the show to talk about Annabel Lee and other happenings at Dakin!

Name:  Annabel Lee
Breed:  Lionhead Dutch rabbit
Age:    1 month old
Sex:    Female
Color:  Tan

Pretty Annabel Lee is one of several bunnies, born on July 1, who came to Dakin because her person wasn’t able to care for those baby rabbits.  She’s a sweet natured rabbit who’s currently sharing a pen with her sister Jane at our Springfield Adoption & Education Center.  Here are some fun facts about rabbits:
Rabbits are easy to litter train
    Their teeth never stop growing
    They have amazing hearing
They live long lives – 10+ years
    They make great companions
When rabbits are happy, they purr
When they’re really happy, they “binky,” that is, they run, jump and kick their back feet up in the air
Bunnies are crepuscular, meaning most active at dawn and dusk.
Bunnies are the third most common animal at shelters, after dogs and cats.
