SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Pioneer Valley business leaders are teaming up for the 8th annual Kids Safety Expo.
Roughly 800,000 children disappear each year in the United States, according to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
The 8th annual Kids Safety Expo hopes to reduce that number.
Parents and kids from neighboring communities will learn about a variety of safety topics, including how to deal with strangers.
The program provides tools to help law enforcement authorities find and identify a lost or missing child. Parents will be able to complete a child ID kit, which includes tooth print impressions, fingerprints, and a videotaped interview of your child.
MYCHIP is one of the sponsors.
The Kids Safety Expo is scheduled from 9AM until noon Saturday and is free to the public.
The expo continues to help families keep children safe, while providing an enjoyable lesson. The first 500 kids will receive a complimentary bicycle helmet.
