CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – AAA says that Memorial Day marks the start of the “100 Deadliest Days” for teenage drivers.
Numbers from AAA show an increase in automobile deaths involving teen drivers from now until Labor Day. In 2021, 900 people were killed in teen-involved crashes, a 25-percent increase before the pandemic.
AAA wants to remind parents and teens to:
- Always buckle up
- Never drive impaired
- Put the phone away
- Focus on the road
