Dakin Humane Society is cutting adoption costs for rabbits in half starting Tuesday.

According to Dakin Spokesperson Lee Chambers, the We’re Splitting with Hares adoption event came about after Dakin found themselves with a large number of rabbits in their care.

Chambers said from Tuesday until Saturday adoption fees for any rabbit will be $30 instead of the normal $60 fee.

Additionally, in cases where two rabbits are paired to be adopted together Dakin will is offering a two-for-one deal where both rabbits can be adopted for a $30 fee.

The event is an attempt to move quickly and attract adopters for the animals.

Rabbits are available for adoption at the organization’s Springfield and Leverett locations. Both locations are open every day except Mondayand open at 12:30 p.m. The Leverett location closes at 4:30 p.m.and the Springfield one stays open until 5:30 p.m.

Adoptable rabbits can also be seen on Dakin’s website.
