Agawam church looking for answers after being vandalized

An Agawam church has been vandalized, and church leaders want to know who did it, and why.

Last Sunday, Feeding Hills Congregational Church had both its Pride flag and large banner that hung between its two front doors stolen.

Pastor Rob Donaldson told 22News the church welcomes anyone who comes through their door, no matter their gender, sexual identity or race.

Donaldson wants to the community to know that he is not backing down, “It’s not unusual for these things to take place. It’s just sad when it does. so, what do you do? Well, you rally people and you say, ‘We’re gonna move forward and we’re not gonna turn back.’ We’re never turning back. We’re gonna be the people God calls us to be.”

Donaldson said this is the third incident within the last couple of months.

He told 22News, a family member of the congregation offered to cover the cost of a new banner and flag.
