BETHESDA, Md. (WWLP) – Police investigated a report of an active shooter situation at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, Tuesday afternoon.
At 3:20 p.m., Naval Support Activity Bethesda announced on Facebook that no active shooter was found.
“The all clear has been given,” the installation said. “No active shooter was found. Personnel may now move freely about the base.”
Congressman Dutch Ruppersberger tweeted from inside the hospital at approximately 2:30 p.m., saying that they have been told there is an active shooter.
