NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – A local non-profit organization is working to make outdoor activities more inclusive for people with disabilities as well as the elderly. 

All Out Adventures hosted its “Pedal in the Park” health and wellness festival fundraiser at the Northampton Senior Center Sunday afternoon.

The event was focused on people with physical limitations and featured adaptive bicycle demos as well as a resource fair with 17 diferent local organizations. Executive director of All Out Adventures said the purpose of the event is to show people with disabilties always have options when it comes to getting active.

“We want people to know that people of all abillities through the aging process with disabilities, limitations in knees, hips, balance, eyesight — there is a way that everybody can ride a bike,” Karen Foster told 22News.

All Out Adventures has promoted health, community and independence for people with disabilities through outdoor recreation since 2001.
