BOSTON, Mass. (WWLP) – State and local police and the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office continue to try to identify the remains found of a toddler-age girl, found on the western shore of Deer Island in Winthrop over a week ago.

Authorities have released a computer generated photo of the girl, prepared by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, with hopes that someone will recognize her. She was found wearing leggings with black polka dots and a black and white zebra-stripe blanket. Those images have also been released to the public.

The girl is estimated to be around 4-years-old at the time of her death, with brown eyes and brown hair, weighing about 30 pounds and standing around 3 ½ feet tall.

Authorities are asking for the public’s help. If any children have gone missing from your community, please contact authorities.

4th of July gatherings is a good time to be vigilant, if any kids you would expect to see are not present.

Anyone with information about a missing child is expected to call the Massachusetts State Police.
