Baystate Health has lifted visitor restrictions put in place during peak flu season.
According to Baystate Spokesperson Keith O’Connor, restrictions were put into Effect in January to provide the safest possible environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
Baystate Health has returned to its normal Visitors Policy, but asks visitors who may be feeling ill or have flu-like symptoms to consider calling patients they intend to visit instead.
Baystate also recommends the following tips to keep the hospital as safe as possible all year long:
- Always wash your hands before and after visiting a patient.
- Make sure you’re healthy and not at a risk to contract infections before visiting,
- If you’re planning to visit someone who has an infectious disease, consider calling instead.
- If you decide to visit a patient that has a contagious disease, wear the protective items offered by the medical staff.
