A Northampton salon provided discounted haircuts today in support of cancer research.
The “Best Heads in Town Salon” hosted a Cut-A-Thon Sunday afternoon. For just $20, you were able to get your hair washed and cut.
A 50/50 raffle and bake sale were also held for people who wanted to support the cause without getting a new hairdo.
All proceeds from the Cut-A-Thon will go to the Pan-Mass Challenge to support the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Chris Jarosz, from the Pan-Mass Bike Challenge, told 22News this cause is personal, “I’ve had a couple family members that have passed away from cancer. Most of us I think have had somebody pass away from cancer so this is just a way to give back.”
The PMC is an annual bike-a-thon from Sturbridge to Provincetown — that raises funds for life-saving cancer research and treatment.
The bike-a-thon raises more money than any other athletic fundraising event in the country.
