SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) — A body was recovered from the Chicopee River on Saturday.
According to Springfield Police spokesman Ryan Walsh, police were called to Indian Orchard for a report of a missing man around 6:45 p.m. on Saturday. The body was found in the vicinity of the Ludlow Bridge.
A 22News crew was at the location at around 7 p.m. on Saturday. Police and fire were blocking off much of the road. The investigation appeared to be focusing on the water and nearby woods. The medical examiner was also on location.
Springfield Police Detectives are now conducting an unattended death investigation. The Medical Examiner’s office will determine the cause of death.
