HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – Six people are without a home after a house fire in Holyoke Saturday.

According to Holyoke Fire Captain Kevin Cavagnac, crews were called to 68 Fairfield Avenue for a house fire around 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

Cavagnac told 22News, when firefighters arrived most of the two-story house was on fire. The house then collapsed around 7 p.m. due to the intensity of the flames.

Everyone in the home was able to make it out safely, including an infant.

No injuries were reported. The American Red Cross will assist those affected.

Cavagnac told 22News, the fire was caused by improper extinguishing of smoking materials on the front porch.
