Bruins aims to close out Maple Leafs, advance to second round Saturday

News

The Boston Bruins will be playing Game 5 of their first-round matchup of the Stanley Cup Playoffs Saturday night. Fans think this team has what it takes to go all the way.

The Bruins are currently up 3-1 in the best-of-seven series over the Toronto Maple Leafs. A win Saturday will clinch the series for the Bruins; that would advance the Bruins to the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time since the 2013-2014 season.

Jared Goss of Chicopee, who was at Game 2 of the series, told 22News he thinks that if everyone stays healthy, this team will have a deep run in the playoffs.

“Everyone’s gotta stay healthy, Tuuka Rask really has to play good,” Goss said. “They’re a young team, very aggressive and they have the best veterans on their team, I think they’re going to go all the way.”

If the Bruins win their series, they will play the winner of the first-round series between the Tampa Bay Lightning and New Jersey Red Devils in the second round.

Puck drop for Saturday’s game is scheduled for 8 p.m in Boston. You can watch the game on 22News.
