SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – According to Dennis Leger, aide to the Springfield fire commissioner, the Caring Health Center at 1049 Main St. was evacuated at around 10AM and has since re-opened.
He said a package was opened this morning and a powder spilled out. A regional HazMat team came in to determine what the substance was. According to Leger, the substance was determined not to be hazardous and contained 99% water and 1% milk product.
Leger says two people who were exposed to the powder, were isolated in the building. Everything is re-opened as of 1PM.
