Connecticut State Police end increased holiday patrol with 573 accidents, 25 DUIs

Connecticut State Police are ending their increase in patrols across the state on Monday.

Troopers were out in full force since last week for the Thanksgiving holiday.

During the increased patrols that began at 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday and concluded at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, troopers have investigated more than 573 accidents, two of which were deadly in North Haven and Bridgeport. 

There were also 25 DUI arrests and more than 1,000 tickets were handed out for various violations, including 573 for speeding.
