You can shop tax-free this week in Connecticut.

Back-to-school shoppers in Connecticut can expect a tax break on their purchases beginning Sunday.

Consumers will not have to pay the state’s 6.35 percent sales tax on retail purchases on most clothing and footwear items priced under $100.

Connecticut retailers often offer additional clothing and footwear discounts during the annual week.

The initiative costs the state about $4.8 million in lost revenue.

Connecticut’s annual tax free week runs from Sunday until Saturday.
