Connecticut traffic stop leads to capture of NY homicide suspect

SOUTHBURY, Conn. (WTNH) – A motor vehicle stop in Southbury, Connecticut, led to much more on Monday afternoon.

According to Connecticut State Police, around 2:30 p.m., a stop was conducted on Interstate 84 Eastbound near exit 13.

Police say a license plate reader signaled that the vehicle was wanted in connection to a homicide in New York City.

Officials say the operator, Luis Cabrarasantos, 25, was the 12th suspect in the Bronx, N.Y., homicide of 15-year-old Lesandro “Junior” Guzman-Feliz.

Police detained the operator and officials from New York responded to Connecticut to continue the investigation.

As the result of an extraditable arrest warrant, Cabrarasantos was charged with fugitive from justice.

He was held on a $1,000,000 bond and is being held pending a court appearance before being transferred to the custody of NYPD.
