Gas leak in Enfield closed Rt. 190 Bridge

An early morning gas leak caused the temporary closure of a bridge over the Connecticut River Thursday.

Enfield, Connecticut police posted on their official Facebook page that a gas leak in the Thompsonville neighborhood of Enfield had caused the Route 190 Bridge between Enfield and Suffield to close.

The bridge has since re-opened.

22News’ Connecticut sister station WTNH-TV reports that a carbon dioxide tank is leaking on Spring Street. There is no danger to the public, but some nearby homes have been evacuated.
