HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) – Police are investigating a homicide after a Middletown man was found dead in Hartford on Tuesday morning.
Police say that just before 1:30 a.m., officers arrived on scene in the area of Woodland Drive, due to a call about an unresponsive person. The 26-year-old male victim was found outside.
Officials say the man had “some sort of trauma to his chest region, not consistent with a gunshot.”
The Medical Response Technician team pronounced the victim dead on scene.
The Hartford Police Crime Scene Division and Major Crimes Division investigators were dispatched to the scene and have assumed control over the investigation.
Police say that there was no shot spotter activation in the area.
Authorities have not released the identity of the victim or if there are any suspects at this time.
It is unclear what lead up to this incident.
This is the city’s third homicide of 2019.
