High winds prevent Southwest flight from landing at Bradley International Airport

Connecticut

Monday night’s high winds prevented a Southwest plane from safely landing at Bradley International Airport.

Southwest Spokesperson Brandy King told 22News, Southwest flight 2169 was traveling from Orlando International Airport to Bradley when high winds prevented the flight from landing safely in Connecticut.

King said the plane, a Boeing 737-700, had 146 passengers and five crew members on board. The flight was safely diverted to T.F. Green Airport in Providence, Rhode Island.

Southwest is reaching out to customers, according to King, to offer apologies, ticket refunds, and a future flight voucher as a gesture of goodwill.
