House fire in Somers sends one victim, two firefighters to hospital

SOMERS, Conn. (WTNH) – Fire officials reported to a second alarm fire structure fire at a home in Somers on Thursday evening.

The call came in at 6:30 p.m. and first responders from several towns including West Stafford, Tolland, Enfield, and Ellington reported to the fire.

The fire is now extenguished. One patient has serious injuries. Two firefighters have minor injuries and were taken to the hospital.

Authorities said one person is unaccounted for.

According to a neighbor, he was outside grilling when he heard an explosion and the house went up in flames immediately.

State Fire Marshal and Somers Fire Marshal are now investigating the cause of the fire.
