ENFIELD, Conn. (WWLP) – An incident involving local and federal authorities on I-91 in Enfield was reported early Wednesday evening.

Connecticut State Police told 22News they were unable to release any details about the incident that happened near Exit 48 in Enfield, but they did confirm that multiple agencies were involved. The report of the police activity on the highway came into our newsroom just before 6 p.m.

22News spoke with Enfield Police Sergeant James Held who said what went down on I-91 was part of an “ongoing investigation” involving multiple agencies including ATF and Vermont authorities.

Sgt. Held added that a portion of I-91 in Enfield was closed for about 15 to 20 minutes while they “took some people into custody.” He did not confirm any arrests.

A video sent to 22News via ReportIt by Seth Goodman shows police vehicles stopped in the middle of the highway with guns drawn towards a van. A second video shows an individual in handcuffs sitting behind a police vehicle.
