Union members begin protesting at Bradley International Airport

Connecticut

The government shutdown is now in its 34th day and TSA agents and other airport employees are still working without getting paid.

Members of the Professional Aviation Safety Specialists Union picketed at Bradley Airport Thursday night to protest what they say are “lax safety checks.”

22News spoke with a Bradley Airport worker who said safety was just one of their concerns. The lack of pay is stressful for their families.

“Security for TSA is a priority, they do a hard job working making sure nothing gets through their security parameter onto the aircraft as essential personnel we’re working and we’re not getting paid and it’s causing a lot of stress for our families,” said Richard Dionne.

About 50,000 airport security workers across the country are working without pay.
