Court blocks Pres. Obama immigration plan


An appeals court ruled that the immigration plan that would delay deporting millions can’t be implemented until it works its way through courts.

(NBC News) – Another federal court has blocked President Obama’s immigration plan that would delay deporting up to five million undocumented immigrants.

The 5th Circuit Court of Appeals says President Obama cannot move forward with plans to delay deporting undocumented immigrants while this challenge works its way through the courts. 26 states sued, led by Texas.

Governor Greg Abbott applauded the ruling on what he calls the president’s “unlawful” action.

A White House spokeswoman claims the court “misinterpreted the facts” and argues the plan is “fully consistent with the law.”
