EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) – A crash involving a motorcycle and two cars closed two major roadways to traffic in East Longmeadow Friday morning.
East Longmeadow Police Chief Williams told 22News that a motorcyclist has died after a crash involving two other vehicles at Somers Road (Route 83) and Pease Road. An accident reconstruction team was called-in.
Neal Normandin is one of the owners of The Apple Place, which was right near where the crash happened, “Just a lot of commotion, lot of sirens. We heard the ambulance leave very quickly. One of the brother’s of the deceased came out and was pretty distraught. It’s just been a very sad scene.”
Somers Road was closed to through traffic between Hampden Rd. and Meadowbrook Rd., while Pease Road was closed to through traffic from Prospect St. (Rt. 186) to Somers Rd. All roads have since been reopened.

East Longmeadow police said the crash is now being handled by State Police and the Hampden County District Attorney’s office. The cause of the crash has not yet been released.
