CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Hundreds of students are disciplined in schools for many reasons including bullying, sexual assault and bringing weapons to school.  But are school departments doing enough to keep children safe and parents informed?

The 22News Investigative Team sorted through three years of disciplinary reports for all Western Massachusetts schools. What we found may surprise you, from elementary school students in the suburbs smoking marijuana to cases of sexual assault or rape.

The 22News I-Team takes a closer look at how often schools keep parents in the loop when there is a potentially dangerous situation at their child’s school and if the punishment fits the crime.

Watch the 22News I-Team report on Student Discipline Reports, tonight, February 25 on 22News at 11PM.
