13 men arrested for soliciting prostitution in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield police arrested more than a dozen men on Wednesday as they continue to crack down on soliciting prostitution in the city.

Springfield Police Department spokesman Ryan Walsh told 22News the following 13 men have all been charged with sexual conduct for a fee:

  • 29-year-old Shawn Keefner of Springfield
  • 53-year-old Samuel Rivera of Springfield
  • 23-year-old Brett Parent of Springfield
  •  38-year-old Charles Foley of Springfield
  • 49-year-old Carlos Maldonado of Enfield, CT 
  • 29-year-old Jose Juachin of Holyoke 
  • 29-year-old David Medina of Springfield
  • 47-year old Carlos Santiago of Agawam
  • 48-year-old Juan Rivera Jr. of Springfield
  • 27-year-old Fahad Daham of Springfield
  • 29-year-old Anand Rangasawmy of Springfield
  • 44-year-old Israel Rios-Rodriguez of Holyoke 
  • 29-year-old William Carmody 

Walsh said the men were arrested in the areas of Locust Street and Palmer Avenue as well as Main and Gardner Streets.

Rios-Rodriguez is facing an additional charge of possession of a Class B substance with the intent to distribute after officers allegedly found 30 rocks of crack cocaine in his possession.

Walsh told 22News officers also contacted the Department of Transitional Assistance after Foley offered food stamps in exchange for sex.
