Federal investigators, state and local police arrested more than a dozen people on Friday after an investigation into drug sales in the Elm Street area.
Holyoke Police Lt. James Albert told 22News the investigation at 291 Elm St. began after the department received several complaints about 24-hours a day of drug operation at the address.
Detectives from Holyoke, FBI agents, members of the DEA and State Police joined forces on Friday to arrest a total of 15 people during the day from what police say is a “direct intervention at the address after observing illegal activities.”
Lt. Albert said the arresting officers seized the following items during the arrests:
- 1000 bags of heroin
- 80 bags of cocaine
- A semi-automatic gun stolen out of East Hartford, Connecticut in 2018
- A caliber revolver
Most of the 15 people arrested will be arraigned in Holyoke District Court on Monday. More details about the suspects and arrests will be released on Saturday.
