Two men are now facing armed robbery charges after they were arrested in Pittsfield Saturday morning.

According to Pittsfield Police Lt. Jeffery Bradford, at 9:38 p.m. police were called to Angelina’s Sub Shop at 97 West Housatonic Street for a report of an armed robbery.

Bradford said a shop employee told officers a dark man wearing a dark colored “hoodie” and mask had robbed the store at gunpoint.

A short time later, officers saw 35-year-old Jameial Beckett and 37-year-old Ivelisse Ruusukallio, both of Pittsfield walking on a street just North of the shop.

Bradford said when the officer stopped the men they found evidence linking them to the armed robbery at the shop. A further search of the area Friday and Saturday morning revealed more evidence Bradford said connected them to the crime.

Beckett and Ruusukallio were both arrested and charged with armed robbery while masked.

Beckett is being held on $7,500 bail while Ruusukallio is held on $2,500 bail. Both men are expected to be arraigned sometime Monday morning.

Pittsfield police are still looking into a string of armed robberies and are asking anyone with information to call officers at 413-448-9705.
