Springfield Police Department spokesman Ryan Walsh told 22News one of the suspects, 40-year-old Demetric Waddy, fell into the Mill River during the chase. He was taken to Baystate Medical Center after being rescued by Springfield firefighters due to his exposure to the extreme cold.

The other suspect, 35-year-old Annemarie Gogol, was later found in a stairway on Fort Pleasant Avenue.

Walsh said both suspects ran after police pulled behind the stolen parked car they were sitting in near Fort Pleasant Ave and Blake Hill Street Thursday evening.

Waddy and Gogol have both been charged with larceny of a motor vehicle. Waddy is also facing charges of resisting arrest and receiving stolen property under $1,200.
