3 Holyoke men indicted on drug distribution charges

Three Holyoke men were arrested and charged in federal court for drug distribution Wednesday.

In a news release sent to 22News, the Justice Department said 35-year-old Pedro Colon Amadeo, 29-year-old Jean Carlos Rivera, and 35-year-old Anthony Rivera were arrested for drug distribution in Holyoke between November 2017 and January 2018.

Amadeo and Carlos Rivera were charged with distribution and possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine. Anthony Rivera was charged in a third indictment with distribution and possession with intent to distribute heroin.

The three men were arrested Wednesday after a seven-month investigation into cocaine and heroin trafficking in Holyoke by members of the La Familia gang, the Justice Department says.

Amadeo is facing up to 40-years in prison, up to a lifetime of supervised release and a fine of up to $1 million.

Anthony Rivera could get up to 30-years in prison, up to a lifetime of supervised release and a fine of up to $2 million, while Jean Carlos Rivera faces up to 20-years in prison, a lifetime of supervised release and a fine of up to $1 million.
