60 bags of heroin seized by West Springfield police

West Springfield police arrested a Springfield man Monday after he was allegedly found to have more than 50 bags of heroin in his possession.

According to the West Springfield Police Department, Orlando Rodriguez Rosado has been charged with possession to distribute a Class A drug and resisting arrest.

Police said Rosado was arrested after the West Springfield Police Department Narcotics Unit and members of the FBI Western Massachusetts Gang Task Force were informed about a drug sale that was about to happen on Elm Street.

When police got there, they allegedly found Rosado with 60 bags of heroin on him and in his car.

West Springfield police say Rosado was arrested after a brief struggle.
