Arrest made in connection with deadly armed robbery on Knox St. in Springfield

A man was arrested in connection with a deadly armed robbery Friday night in Springfield.

According to Springfield Police Spokesperson Ryan Walsh, 22-year-old Duryl Hale is facing several charges including armed assault with attempt to rob and assault and battery by discharging a firearm.

Hale is also charged with attempt to commit an assault and battery by discharging a firearm, possession of a loaded firearm, and felon possession of a firearm.

Police were called to the Knox Street Market at 17 Knox Street in Springfield Friday night for a report of an armed robbery around 6:45 p.m. 

Walsh said two gunshot victims were found by police. One victim died on Knox Street while the other was taken tot Baystate Medical Center for treatment. 

The victim taken to the hospital is expected to live, Walsh said.
