Boyfriend charged in police officer’s murder

Police in Shreveport, Louisiana announced Wednesday the arrest of three suspects accused in the murder of their fellow officer.

During a news conference Wednesday morning Shreveport Police Chief Ben Raymond said Treveon Anderson has been charged with Second Degree Murder in Chateri Payne’s death.

Chief Raymond said Anderson, the boyfriend of Payne and father of her young child, was questioned following the shooting outside of their home.

Anderson told detectives that someone else shot Payne and he called 911 to report the shooting. He was released after questioning.

Investigators later gathered enough evidence to link Anderson to Payne’s murder.

“We believe Anderson shot and killed Officer Payne and concocted the narrative of her being killed by unknown suspect,” Raymond said.

Lawrence Pierre and Glenn Frierson, who are believed to be accomplices, have also been arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder.

“Three evil cowards are off the streets so they can’t hurt anyone else,” Raymond added.
