MADEIRA BEACH, Fla. (WFLA) –  Pinellas County deputies are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying two men caught on camera illegally fishing at John’s Pass early yesterday morning.

The subjects were observed killing Snook with a bow and arrow.

The incident happened at Dons Dock just after 4 a.m.

Surveillance pictures show one man aiming at the water, about to release the arrow.

Another picture captured a shot of the two men, walking on the dock, trespassing on the property.

Someone noticed a fish lying dead on the dock hours later, long after the men had left. That person snapped a photo and gave it to detectives.

Those who work at John’s Pass are upset.

Dylan Hubbard, of Hubbard’s Marina said the subjects are breaking several laws.

“So they’re trespassing, shooting a fish that’s not able to be shot. That fish they’re harvesting is out of season and it was over sized and they didn’t take the fish home to eat. They left it in the planter in front of the place they did this,” said Hubbard.

He said both knew what they were doing.

“You know they knew what they were doing because they were secretive about it and then they tried to hide the fish they were catching.”

If you recognize the men, you’re asked to contact authorities.
