Chicopee man arrested, facing drug, firearms charges

A man in Chicopee is facing drug and firearms charges after he was arrested Monday.

Chicopee Police Officer Mike Wilk told 22News, 20-year-old Kenneth Maldonado was arrested after a search warrant was executed at a residence on 1060 Chicopee Street.

Wilk said detectives found several items including a handgun, a rifle, ammunition, 500 bags of heroin, $700 in cash, two bags of marijuana, packing bags, and digital scales.

Maldonado is facing the following charges: 

  • Possession with intent to distribute class A drug
  • Possession with intent to distribute class D drug
  • Two counts of possession of a firearm without an FID card
  • Possession of ammunition without an FID card
  • Conspiracy to violate drug laws

Wilk said a second party who lives at the residence, but was not present at the time of the search, will be charged with drug offenses and summonsed to court.
