A Chicopee man is facing rape charges after being arrested Monday.
Chicopee Police Officer Mike Wilk told 22News, on August 13 an assault was reported to police and as a result of an investigation into the incident an arrest warrant was issued for 54-year-old Jose Rodriguez.
Wilk said Rodriguez is facing the following charges:
- Two counts of rape
- Extortion by threat of injury
- Indecent assault and battery in a person over 14
- Assault with intent to rape
- Impersonating a police officer
On Monday an officer was patrolling when he noticed Rodriguez’s car parked outside his home.
Police were able to execute their search warrant, remove evidence from the residence, and arrest Rodriguez.
