SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield police have made an arrest in connection with a shooting last fall.
Springfield Police Department spokesman Ryan Walsh told 22News, 32-year-old Hector Gomez was taken into custody at his home on East Main Street in Chicopee early Tuesday morning.
Gomez is accused of shooting a man near the intersection of Fort Pleasant Avenue and Forest Park Avenue on September 11. The victim survived his injuries.

Gomez is scheduled to be arraigned in Springfield District Court Tuesday on charges of:
- Assault to murder
- Assault and battery with a dangerous weapon
- Carrying a firearm without a license (second offense)
- Discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building
