Chicopee man charged with OUI after crash on Rolf Avenue

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Chicopee police arrested a man whose blood alcohol level was allegedly more than two times the legal limit when he crashed his van on Rolf Avenue Tuesday.

Chicopee Police Officer Mike Wilk told 22News 30-year-old Vincent Ross admitted to drinking alcohol and looking down at his phone at the time of the accident. When officers got to the site of the crash, Ross’ van was found with heavy front end damage, and another car was flipped on its roof in a yard.

Ross was taken to the hospital before being processed at the police station on charges of OUI liquor, texting while operating a motor vehicle, and speeding. Wilk said he was released on personal recognizance.
